Self-governing Union Parishad Advocacy Group-Bangladesh (SGUPAG) is a forum of union parishad chairmen-members working for strengthening rural local government tier i.e. union parishad of Bangladesh. Since 16 May 2004, SGUPAG has been advocating for actual development, problems and prospects of union parishads. It moves for rights of unions, capacity building of chairmen and members etc. It arranges workshops, seminars associated with the financing and budgeting of union parishads. It helps union parishad in arranging open budget meeting. Most importantly, it is trying to create people's phenomenon through the leadership of union parishad representatives and with the help of grass root people. |
